Apple – iPad: Year One
YouTube – Apple – iPad: Year One.
Just wanted to let you all know about the Cameron Moll Colosseo iPad Martian Giveaway.
Cameron Moll is one of my favorite designers, creating the prominent typeset edition of LDS Temple that I am proud to hang in my home. In addition to hanging this in my home, it has also made the rounds at Stevens-Henager college to all of my classes, all the while sharing the video of the creation at the same time.

There’s no camera for video chatting.

Thanks to Apple’s decision to hamstring it in the software department, it’s missing key elements that steered my interest away: … a front-facing camera.

Where is video chat?
Josh
Touché, Mr. Jobs, but it’s also easy to argue that a $399 netbook can do a number of things better than the $499 Apple iPad — like multitask, play Flash video and make a video call.
Joanna
I know, you are underwhelmed, but when was video chat anything more then a gimmick? It is great to do, but IM or a phone call is a far better solution in corporate/personal communication in my book.

Couple of thoughts…
What do you do?
When Apple and Adobe fight, standards win. Sing that now to the tune of Particle Man by They Might Be Giants (and forget, like I did, about that hater Triangle Man always winning everything). Like the ubiquitous Particle Man, standards -should- be everywhere. Thanks to iPad, standards may finally begin to find the priority they should have had with every designer all along.
